Get to know the writer:
What is your screenplay about?
If you have intentions to do something good for someone, make sure it is truly for the right reason!
What genres does your screenplay fall under?
romantic comedy
Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
We get to laugh while learning life lessons about our intentions to help people. We need to listen to their needs.
How would you describe this script in two words?
Funny poignant
What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
Rain Man
How long have you been working on this screenplay?
About a year on and off, including rewrites. I also took your feedback very seriously and did another rewrite.
How many stories have you written?
Over a dozen.
What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)
Time to Say Good-bye
What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
It was more about making sure I had the emotions and messages I wanted to impart in the story than the comedy. This was my first attempt at a romantic comedy, and I actually surprised myself at how funny I could be! Finding the right balance was a challenge.
Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
I love music.
What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?
I liked the idea of the first ten pages or first scene. Those initial pages are crucial to setting the tone of the screenplay. The feedback was exceptional. I was surprised at what I had missed and after doing the rewrite, I knew I had a good solid 10 pages. I was very appreciative of that feedback that was so on target!
