It really helps to have a performance of your screenplay. The actors were patient and made the dialogue come to life. It also made me realises that the action scenes were convoluted, so it forced me to create another draft. Since the rewrite, my screenplay has won several minor awards. The theme of the June 2018 ANIMATION & EXPERIMENTAL FEEDBACK Film Festival in Toronto was “Innocence Lost”. Every single film was about characters who lost their idealism.

These types of festivals bring on a whole new crowd and with that an entirely new conversation in the feedback section. These are divisive films that many times attempt to make a social or political commentary on the world.

In the other festivals, the conversation is more about the storytelling – the plots and characters in the films we present. With the Animation & Experimental Festival the discussions lean more towards the thematics and overall points of the film. The subtext and emotions. How is…
